About the clinician's workday
The main OR has 15 rooms, including 2 cardiac rooms (typically using 1). Daily cases include 1-2 cardiac surgeries handled by MDs, major vascular surgeries, 1,200-1,300 OB cases per year (OB team only), and a variety of general, ENT, orthopedic, podiatry, urology, and ophthalmology cases. CRNAs can perform blocks, spinals, neuroaxial anesthesia, and lines, with approximately 50 blocks per year, and training is available for block techniques. Types of blocks include interscalene, axillary, supraclavicular, subcostal TAP, midaxillary TAP, femoral, fascia iliaca, popliteal, and adductor canal. Credentialing takes approximately 90 days.
